Canine influenza or the dog flu has been in the news a lot lately. It is definitely going around the Chicagoland area. Its symptoms can be a cough, runny nose and fever. It is very contagious to all dogs. In some pets it can progress to pneumonia requiring hospitalization. Dogs who go to boarding, grooming, day care and dog parks are more at risk.
