What you need to know about The Dog Flu

Published on March 31st, 2015

Canine influenza or the dog flu has been in the news a lot lately. It is definitely going around the Chicagoland area. Its symptoms can be a cough, runny nose and fever. It is very contagious to all dogs. In some pets it can progress to pneumonia requiring hospitalization. Dogs who go to boarding, grooming, day care and dog parks are more at risk. During this outbreak, we are recommending dogs avoid “social” situations. There is a vaccine that can help prevent your dog from becoming infected. Call us today to get your dog the influenza vaccine!
