It could happen to anyone. You’ve always taken good care of your pet; regular exams, vaccines, bloodwork. Then suddenly your dog gets injured at the park, your cat eats a needle and thread and you’re faced with the unexpected expense of emergency surgery.
While medical costs are an unavoidable responsibility of owning a pet, an unexpected emergency can put owners in a very difficult position. Nobody, including us, wants to see a pet suffer or be euthanized because of financial reasons.
When an emergency happens, we never want anyone to be forced to make quick decisions based solely on money. That’s why we’re proud to team up with the Chicago Veterinary Medical Foundation to create a fund here at Portage Park Animal Hospital to help our clients in financial crisis when an unexpected emergency occurs.
Anyone can donate money to this fund to help
those in the Portage Park neighborhood with a pet emergency. To donate, you can visit http://www.chicagovmf.org/donate/hospital, select
your donation amount and choose Portage Park Animal Hospital from the list of participating veterinarians. Every little bit helps us get this fund off the ground. With minimal overhead costs, 90% of your donation will go directly to help people’s pets in emergency situations.*
There’s a lot of great animal charities out there that are worthy of your donation, but why not donate to a cause that could help someone right here in the Portage Park neighborhood?
*In order to be eligible for assistance, the owner must be a current Portage Park Animal Hospital client in good standing, currently experiencing a financial hardship, and faced with an emergency procedure. The Chicago Veterinary Medical Foundation, NFP (CVMF) is a not-for-profit charitable organization. The CVMF is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
