Puppy Vaccinations

Published on July 25th, 2019

When you introduce a new member to your family, there is so much excitement! Besides being downright adorable, dogs make faithful companions and are always ready to put a smile on our face. Be sure to remember that this is a living, breathing creature. It needs a certain amount of care and attention in order to stay healthy and happy. Pet vaccinations should be a regular part of your pet’s healthcare.

Start On The Right Foot

Or paw, that is! When your dog is young, there are a number of pet vaccinations that can prevent illness and disease. Getting the proper shots can ensure that your pup stays in good health for years to come, and it sets a great foundation for their life. Keep in mind that there are some highly contagious viruses out there, and there are indeed illnesses that are specific to dogs. Therefore, talk to your vet about vaccinating your puppy as soon as possible. Many vaccinations and boosters are scheduled for your puppy within its first 4 months of life.

Increased Risks For Pups

When puppies are first born, they are protected by the immunities the mother passed along. As the puppy ages, these immunities wear off which is why it’s essential to vaccinate your puppy to ensure healthy growth. It is also important to remember that puppies are especially susceptible to various diseases. For instance, respiratory infections and viruses strike younger dogs with more strength, and this can cause disastrous effects.
